THERE’S NO PLACE LIKE HOME! – September 20th Homecoming Service
When September rolls around, our church begins planning for our special Homecoming worship service, luncheon buffet, and the start of autumn choir activities. Well, things will be going a bit more slowly this year. Our church will remain cautious about singing, so our choir will remain on hiatus. A full church buffet is still too chancy. We will, however meet again at Cathedral of the Pines on September 20th for an outdoor worship service at 10 AM. The seating will be socially distanced, masks will be used and Rev Kathleene will deliver the message. The worship team will try to get some soloists to provide special music and perhaps a surprise or two!
It was so good to worship together at the Cathedral in August! Let’s hope that the COVID numbers trend further downward and allow for more social gathering with less risk. Let’s also continue to pray for our medical researchers and CDC doctors, as they scramble to develop a vaccine!
Put the 20th on your calendar and see how you’re feeling about gathering with the church, as the weekend approaches. The service will be taped and streamed on YouTube as close to 11:30 AM as possible. If you just don’t feel you can attend, know that you will be able to worship with your church family a bit later in the day.

WELCOME NEW MEMBERS
We welcome Jeff and Jess Hipp into the church family!

WELOME ELI HIPP
Eli Hipp was baptized on Sunday August 23. Welcome Eli!

MISSIONS WORK
The Mission Committee remains busy, even though we are not able to worship together in person. Thanks to everyone that contributed to our sponsorship for Arun in June. In August we have been busy with the backpacks for back to school. As you read this the backpacks will have been distributed. Thanks to everyone that contributed funds, supplies or helped assemble and distribute them.
In addition, our church received a $2500 donation from Jane Lute. She recognized the work our church is doing and made this contribution from a book advance which she received. In addition to her contribution, she arranged for a matching donation from Union Pacific Money Plus with the stipulation that the matching funds be distributed to the groups that we support. We therefore sent $625 checks to the River Center, NH Food Bank, MATS, and Shelter From the Storm.
Thanks to everyone for supporting the missions work of our church.

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY UPDATE
The Monadnock Habitat for Humanity home build in Keene is wrapping up. With the help of our church, both in donations and labor, a beautiful stone patio was installed and the extra proceeds raised will be used for landscaping materials.
The laborers included Hiel Lindquist, Ken Constantine, Greg Robidoux, Karen and Matt Keenan and the work was completed on a Saturday morning before it got “too” hot.
We have had a few setbacks in the project, which is not unusual even outside of COVID, so our goal of moving the Partner family in in August is not going to happen. We will be able to welcome them home before the end of September though, and we are all very excited for that!
Thanks for all your prayers and support. We are continuing to look for land in the area so we have a spot to focus our fundraising with the goal of building another home next year! We already have a Partner Family selected, and they just added to their family with the birth of their second child! Please contact me if you think you know of an available lot.
