Habitat for Humanity Project Challenge (updated)

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY UPDATE
The Board of Directors for Monadnock Habitat for Humanity has adopted the recommendation of the Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) organization to put a temporary stop to all building projects under the current COVID-19 safety protocols. Even though New Hampshire has deemed the organization and home building projects to be essential businesses, HFHI has strongly recommended they take this extra precaution at this time.
The Hundley home build in Keene is at a good point to stop without risking loss or damage to the investment in site improvements and foundation work recently completed. They will be monitoring state, federal and HFHI guidance regularly and plan to resume their project as soon as possible.
It is imperative that Habitat for Humanity continue with their outreach for volunteers to serve in a variety of capacities as well as their fundraising efforts so that they can successfully complete this home build when the time comes, and to provide the necessary infrastructure for their forecasted 2021 build. Please take this time to consider whether you can contribute your time or other resources to help them in our mission.

Habitat for Humanity
Hello brothers and sisters;
Habitat for Humanity has selected a partner family and also broke ground on our home build in Keene!
I wanted to throw out a challenge to see if this was something we wanted to take on… The plans for the home include a back deck measuring about 12’ x 13’ but this is not currently in the budget. I thought it would be a good project for PUMC to tackle, both in raising the money (estimated to be about $1000 but it may not need a full railing once the elevation is determined, and we have some donated Trex decking already) and in actually building the deck (this should only take one or two days to build). Greg Robidoux is President of the Peterborough Rotary Club and they too have been wanting to participate, so maybe we could team up for both the fundraising and nail banging?
What do you say?!
Matt Keenan
