Peterborough UMC held our first Lenten Supper on Thursday evening. Hiel and Susan Lindquist hosted the supper but everyone that attended contributed. Hiel led a short devotional during which he explained how he observed the Lenten season and what Lent meant to him. Everyone then shared in conversation over a simple meal of soup, salad and bread. Join us next Thursday at 5:30 PM if you would like to share in the spirit of the season.

On February 26, the second Thursday after the beginning of Lent, we will begin our Lenten Suppers.
Lent commemorates the forty days Jesus spent fasting in the desert. It is a traditional time of repentance and reflection and many people give up something or add something positive to their lives during the season. Why not join us for a short devotional message followed by a simple meal of soup, bread, and salad along with quiet fellowship?
We will start at 5:30 PM on February 26 and continue the suppers each Thursday during the Lenten Season. Supper and fellowship will usually last about an hour and a half. Contact Hiel or Susan Lindquist if you would like to assist with the suppers. While a small soup, salad, or bread contribution is welcome, it is not necessary.
All are welcome, including all from outside our church community, so come and invite a friend.
Lent starts every year on Ash Wednesday and ends on Holy Saturday, the day before Easter Sunday. Ash Wednesday 2015 falls on February 18, 2015, and Holy Saturday 2015 falls on April 4, 2015.
