The Peterborough United Methodist Church is stepping out into a new field of outreach this month. Beginning on April 17th, the church will host Open Mic evenings in the fellowship hall at the church on Concord Street. Doors open at 6:30 for participants to check in and set up. Music and readings will begin at 7PM and continue until 9:00 PM (or a bit later, if the roster fills up) and will be hosted on the third Friday of every month.
Check out our “practice” of One Voice by the Wailin Jennies, for Open Mic. We didn’t just goof that many times in front of a church full of people, right?
Got a guitar and a song or two under your belt? Write poetry and like sharing it? Got a story to tell? Like the idea of stand-up comedy? Need to practice your public speaking? Got an acoustic musical group that needs some exposure? Sing a cappella with some of your buddies? Got a drum circle going? Come share your thing in a laid back environment. Grab a cup of coffee or tea and enjoy some music, poetry and whatnot, while you wait your chance to share… all ages and levels of talent are welcome.
Like listening to the act on stage rather than being the act? That’s okay too! Come support local artists while catching up with friends!
For information about Open Mic, call the church at 603-924-4294. Leave a message and contact number and we’ll get back to you! The church is located at 43 Concord Street in Peterborough, NH.
