World’s Children Sponsorship
The 2016 Sponsorship Drive for World’s Children is underway! This year, the United Methodist Women are asking our church congregation to help raise the $360 sponsorship it takes to care for Arun Hanumanthu, the young boy that our church has sponsored since he arrived at the Methodist Boarding Home for Boys and Girls when he was four years old. Look for the latest letter and photo of Arun (pronounced Ah-roon) in the fellowship room on the easel. He is growing up to be a handsome young man. Arun will turn eleven years old on June 18th. He has entered the 7th grade.
During the month of May, UMW will organize two events – a special offering on Mother’s Day Sunday and a Memorial Day Sunday cake sale at the end of the month. Don’t make dessert for your Memorial Day picnic! Plan to bid on a cake baked by one of the ladies of the UMW.
Look for the cheerfully decorated envelopes that the Sunday School children made in your church bulletin on Sunday, May 8th. Any donation is happily accepted! If there are folks who would like to cover a month of expenses for Arun, $30 would be the appropriate amount to offer. If you are member of the church who does not always get to church, but would like to help out on this special sponsorship, you may mail your offering to the church at: Peterborough United Methodist Church, 43 Concord St., Peterborough, NH 03458.
