The planning committee would like to meet the needs and concerns of all our members and friends. HUNDRED NIGHTS WEEKEND DINNER – Saturday, August 22nd
If you would like to help provide a meal for homeless or food challenged, please contact Susan Lindquist. The next weekend meal will be a Cool Down Menu – cold spiral cut hams with mustards and relishes, cool pasta salads, cold green salads, cool fruit salads, watermelon slices, and cool beverages. Some volunteers have already signed on to help, but there is still a need for another cold green salad, cool fruit salad, sliced watermelon wedges, or heavy duty paper plates, and heavy duty plastic eating utensils. We will be delivering the food to the Hundred Nights Drop-In Center on the afternoon of the dinner, but we will not stay to serve this time. Social distancing rules do not allow us to stay in the space, as it gets too crowded, so staff will lay out the buffet line and one staff server will serve, while set numbers of guests are admitted to eat and then leave to make room for others. Please consider helping out on this important food mission! Many thanks!

EDUCATION FOR MINISTRY @ All-SAINTS
I’m extending an invitation to your parishioners if there may be any who are interested. We have openings for a few people to join us.
Education for Ministry is a four-year course that we offer at All Saints’. It’s a program developed and offered through the School of Theology at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. Each year covers a particular focus: Old Testament, New Testament, church history, and theology.
We meet on Monday evenings for 36 weeks from September into early June — a small group of six to 12 participants. Each person shares some insights from their reading for that week and we spend the rest of the session with a theological reflection or a common reading. Each session begins with Worship (usually a prayer or poem) and “Onboard,” an opportunity to check-in from the week since we last met.
The group establishes norms or a covenant to abide by, creating safe, sacred space for trust and honest, respectful sharing.
I have been mentoring EfM at All Saints’ since 2012, after completing the course, and found it to be an enriching and enlightening experience, often transformational. It creates an opportunity to explore our faith, ask questions, and grow as Christians.

I warmly welcome anyone from your congregation who is interested. I like to have everyone registered by mid-August so I can get all the materials ordered. I am available to answer questions. The website is efm.sewanee.edu for more information.
The cost of the course is $375. That includes all materials, except a Bible that Year One and Year Two participants will need.
We met via Zoom from mid-March to our last session in June. There is the possibility that we will be able to meet in Reynolds Hall, across the street from the church, where we will have room to be safely spaced.

Thank you!
Marilyn Weir
