LITURGIST SIGN UP
We all know Jim has been a busy bee lately! We have put the Liturgist sign up form out on the little table in the fellowship hall near the door to the sanctuary. It would be excellent if we could get people to sign up for the next month. The worship team appreciates your presence and service in this duty.
If you have any questions about what is involved please contact Jim Poplin, or the office.

ENTER THE 2022 LAITY ADDRESS CHALLENGE
The Conference Board of Laity is pleased to invite all laypersons in the New England Annual Conference to enter the Laity Address Challenge to have an opportunity to give the Laity Address at the 2022 Annual Conference.
The 2022 Annual Conference will be held online and in-person on June 9-11. The Laity Address will be pre-recorded. The specific date/time of the Laity Address broadcast has not been set.
Our Annual Conference theme is “Envisioning the Beloved Community.” Our guiding scripture Philippians 3:12-14 (The Message). The address must use that as its theme.
The address should be 15-20 minutes long. Entrants must submit a written copy of their entire proposed address along with a video of themselves delivering the first 5 minutes of the address. The deadline to submit your proposed address and video is May 6, 2022.
Please submit your manuscript to Ruby Blake at msrube65@gmail.com and you will be sent instructions for how to upload your video file. If you have a link to your video to share, you can email that along with the manuscript.

NOMINATIONS OF PERSONS TO SERVE ON THE NEW ENGLAND CONFERENCE COMMISSION ON ARCHIVES AND HISTORY
The Conference Commission on Archives and History has a number of openings, and are looking for individuals to nominate who would be interested in serving on the Commission. They generally meet twice a year – once at the end of April/early May and once in the fall around the end of September/early October. Pre-pandemic they attempted to meet at various places of historical interest around the conference. During the past two years they have been meeting remotely, and it is their guess that once we are past the pandemic stage, that it is possible that they might continue to have hybrid meetings as many churches are now doing with worship – though they have not talked about this as of the present time.
They do have funds to reimburse members for their travel to the meetings, including the cost of meals and overnights if it is necessary to stay over due to the length of the travel required.
Though they are not limiting their nominations to persons of color, since they are currently a very white Commission, they are particularly interested in identifying a few individuals of color who might be interested in serving on the Commission. They currently have a Korean pastor whose name has been submitted.
However, if you, or anyone you know, is particularly interested in serving on the Conference Commission, please let Pat Thompson know as soon as possible at pajt8817@aol.com. She does not have a deadline for submission of names but do know that the Leadership/Nominations Team is currently meeting on a regular basis to begin to prepare the slate for our annual conference.

FIRST AID FOR MENTAL HEALTH – live, virtual training – March 10 and 24
Recognizing the need to create a more empathic community and environment within The United Methodist Church for those struggling with their mental health, Wespath is offering First Aid for Mental Health designed to erase the stigma surrounding mental health issues and emphasize that it’s OK, not to be OK. It also teaches attendees how to accept their own mental health struggles without embarrassment or shame. Clergy and their spouses, church leaders, staff and congregation members are all invited to attend — at no cost.
