PUMC YARD SALE AND RUMMAGE – June 4
Spring is here and it’s time for yard a sale! As a first time event in a good while, a yard sale seems the perfect way for our church to jump back into the community event scene!
An organizing group met last Sunday to begin planning for an outdoor event. The planning committee has scheduled the yard sale for Saturday, June 4. As you clean out this spring, take a look around and see if you have any of the following ‘gently used’ items for donation. Thanks in advance for your help on this event and stay tuned for more info coming your way!
Here are some of the things we’re looking to bunch together and sell:
Outdoor and Sporting Goods – tents, camping gear, bikes, trikes, and things that go, yard games, yard maintenance tools and such, stakes, rope, buckets and gardening stuff.
Books – hardcover and paperback books that are in good condition, gently used children’s books that are not marked up
Kids Toys, Games, and Puzzles – gently used and in good condition … puzzles that are complete with no missing pieces, please!
DVD’s and Music CD’s – all genres of music and movie titles that are not racy (you know what we mean! )
Tools and Home Appliances – in good working order – cleaned up and made presentable. NOTE: No computers or electronics, please.
Spring and Summer Clothing for Rummage – washed and folded, please!
Plants – divided houseplants or potted annuals or vegetable seedlings are MOST welcome
General Household Goods – cookware, dishes, utensils, glassware, vases etc – in good shape and clean, please!
Seasonal Holiday Decorations – summertime and fall home decorations, please! Silk flowers, garlands, and seasonal wreaths and such. NOTE: Please hold back on Christmas decorations for our Holiday Stroll donation collection.

MONADNOCK HUNGER WALK 2022 – May 7 @ Jaffrey Community Church

Hurray! it’s back and it’s not a ‘virtual walk’ this year! So, let’s get a good walking team together and raise some funds for area food pantries!
The Monadnock Hunger Walk is a community fund-raising walk that brings church and civic groups together on one Saturday morning in May to raise dollars for regional food pantries and anti-hunger non-profits in the Monadnock region. Folks who want to walk canvas for sponsors to support them. The walkers collect donation checks to agencies, pantries, and programs that their sponsors wish to support. On Walk Day, they bring their registration/sponsor sheet and the checks to the Walk, turn them in when they register, and then head out into the morning sunshine to visit with friends as they complete the walk. On returning, there is always a snack, some water bottles, and a lot of happy yakking!
This year, the Monadnock Hunger Walk is being sponsored by the Jaffrey Community Church on Saturday, May 7th. Plans are still being put together on the walking route, so stay tuned. DO know that the walking route is usually from 2 – 3 miles and is completed at a leisurely pace. Really! Supporting local food pantries by collecting sponsor checks from friends, family, and businesses and then turning them in on Walk Day is the easiest thing to do! To boot, your sponsors PICK the food pantry or anti-hunger group that THEY would like to support. How awesome is that?
Our church has a strong missions commitment to feeding the hungry and supporting the food challenged. Here’s hoping that we can build a good walking team and have a good time of fellowship and mission together. Take a look at the paperwork in the attachments and think about whether you can make some calls, dust off your walking shoes and go the distance with some of your church friends!
