ANNUAL ANTIQUE ROADSHOW & RAFFLE – Dec 2


This fundraiser for Shelter from the Storm is scheduled for December 2 at Woodbound Inn. Please join SFTS for this fun-filled event. You do not need to have an item appraised in order to win $2022 in money prizes or 15+ other raffle prizes. There will also be over 75 Silent Auction items to bid on and win just in time for holiday giving! All monies go to support their transitional shelter program.

A SEASON OF DREAMS WITH KEENE POP CHOIR – Dec 4


Join our own Ken Constantine and the Keene Pops choir is a 50-ish voice choir with traditional women & men’s parts. Their Dec 4 concert is at 2pm in St James Episcopal Church (Keene) and requires tickets which are $15 and which he has (or can get). He would need to know, either in person or via email, how many tickets anyone wants before Monday, Nov 28. He could be paid later if that’d help anyone. Laura/Lillian and Pat Woodward and Charlene Schultz have heard the Pops if you want to ask for their reviews.

MONADNOCK BLEND’S HOLIDAY CONCERT – Dec 5


Join our own Ken Constantine and Monadnock Blend is a group of 11 men who sing acapella (with no accompaniment). Their Dec 5 concert is at 7pm in the lower level of the Hancock Church (across from the village green) and it’s free of charge. Laura/Lillian and Charlene and the Demers have heard MB before if you want to get their reviews.

SPECIAL MISSIONS MEETING FOR HOUSING EMERGENCY – Dec 8


The Missions team will host a special meeting to discuss the expected housing emergency this winter. We will have a presentation about how the Monadnock Meeting House created a shelter space. All are welcome. The meeting will be Wednesday, December 8 at 7pm, in-person or on Zoom. Contact the church office or Justine Gaskamp for Zoom details.

HOLIDAY TREES IN PETERBOROUGH – Dec 2-4


This year’s event features uniquely decorated trees both inside and outside the Peterborough Community Center, 25 Elm Street. Outdoor lights will be turned on each day from 3:30 – 10PM. Friday view inside trees and vote 5-7p. Evening campfire in front of the trees with cocoa and caroling. Saturday view inside trees and vote 9a-7p. Evening campfire 5-7p. Sunday view inside trees and vote 11a-3p. Santa will visit 2-3.
Admission is free; donations will be gladly accepted: non-perishable food or monetary donations for the Peterborough Food Pantry, and/or winter clothing for the Hundred Nights Shelter in Keene.

TREE LIGHTING – Dec 2


Santa will be returning to the Peterborough Town Hall at 1 Grove St. in Peterborough for children to visit and get their pictures taken with this jolly old soul. Santa will arrive at 5pm.
At 6pm join Luca Paris outside for the return of the Peterborough Tree Lighting ceremony. Cookies and hot chocolate will be available for everyone before and after the tree lighting in the Town Hall. All are welcome, including your pets, so bring your cameras and/or phones and we can help so you can be in the picture, too! It’s FREE. Come one, come all!

MESSIAH SING – Dec 3


On Saturday, Dec 3, community singers and instrumentalists will gather at the Peterborough Unitarian Universalist Church to prepare and perform the Christmas section of Handel’s Messiah. Conducted by James Sharrock, the afternoon festival will include professional vocal soloists, trumpet soloist, quartet and organ. All ages are invited for the
FREE hour-long concert at 4:00 pm in the sanctuary.
