STAFF CHRISTMAS GIFTS – due Dec 11

The Staff Parish Relations Committee is inviting church people to contribute towards cash Christmas gifts for our pastor and all church staff. You can contribute by mailing in a check made payable to Peterborough United Methodist Church, or by giving cash or check on Sunday mornings. Please be sure that your giving envelope and/or check are marked “XMas gift for PUMC staff.” Your gift will need to arrive by Sunday, Dec 11, in order that we can present our gifts and express our appreciation on Sunday, Dec 18 (our last service before Christmas).
If you have any questions about these gifts, you can ask one of these SPRC members: Ken Constantine, Cindy Faust, Jeff Hipp, Phyllis Porter, or Andy Wallenstein

CELEBRATE BISHOP DEVADHAR’S RETIREMENT

Bishop Sudarshana Devadhar will retire on Dec. 31, and many of you have asked how you might honor or celebrate this milestone.
The 2022 Annual Conference session included a Celebration of Episcopal Leadership on June 10, as we thanked Bishop and Prema Devadhar for their 10 years of service. A number of in-person and via-video guests offered blessings and fond memories as they looked back at the Bishop’s episcopal ministry.
Watch a video of the celebration: https://drive.google.com/file/d/13QuwUdWPVcm1yFPqA8IDfyQDD3gvkfpj/view
Cards or notes for the Devadhars can be mailed to Conference Office (411 Merrimack St., Suite 200, Methuen, MA 01844). At Annual Conference, the Episcopacy Committee presented the Devadhars with a commemorative book of messages from NEAC members, and any cards/notes received will be added to the book.
If you would like to give a gift in honor of the bishop, you are invited to contribute to the Clergy Respite Fund, which allows clergy to take time off to care for themselves and their health. You can contribute online using this form: https://www.umfne.org/pastors-respite-donation-form

BISHOP’S CHALICE AUCTION – begins Dec 1

As Bishop Sudarshana Devadhar heads into retirement, he is auctioning off some of the Communion Chalices he has gathered over the years. The online auction takes place Dec. 1-15, 2022. Proceeds will benefit the Clergy Respite Fund. The fund allows clergy to take time off to care for themselves and their health. Your donation through this auction honors the retirement of Bishop Devadhar and his legacy of concern for the welfare of clergy in the Conference.
