WINTER STORM PROCEDURES
Well, winter is here again and time for a reminder concerning winter storm impact on church services. Pastor Thom has indicated that, unless a storm is really severe, he will hold regular church services on Sundays. In the event of a storm, our congregation should use their best judgements as to whether or not they should attend. Unless a potential storm hits on Sunday morning our church parking lot should be cleared. We will post any Sunday worship cancellations on WMUR TV, so check there for cancellation information.
The office will be closed if the Contoocook Valley School District (Conval) is closed or delayed

THE INTRIGUING HISTORY OF ‘O HOLY NIGHT’
The 300-year-old story of a beloved Christmas song is filled with scandal, politics and dubiousness. Yet the 19th-century French carol remains a favorite.

RISING NEED FOR CASA VOLUNTEERS
As we close out 2022 and start to think of what new goals and aspirations 2023 might hold, CASA is hoping you will share a message from CASA with your congregation. Unfortunately, this year has been unlike anything they have experienced in CASA of NH’s 30+ year history. The increase in child abuse and neglect cases, as well as in their severity and complexity, is unprecedented. Their goal is to provide a CASA advocate to 100% of the children in need. Normally, they are able to meet at least 88% of this need or higher. Since the beginning of July, this rate has plummeted to below 60%.
In response to the need, CASA is mobilizing all efforts towards maximizing attendance in their upcoming training classes. For those desiring to make a difference for children in their community, there is truly no time like the present.
There are upcoming virtual training sessions in January, March, and April: https://www.casanh.org/volunteer-training-calendar/
